Volunteer with Lost Cats Brighton: Help Our Feline Friends

Are you a cat lover living in Brighton & Hove? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of local cats in need? Join the Lost Cats Brighton volunteer team.

Because we don’t have a dedicated shelter location, our work relies entirely on the kindness, time, and dedication of people that volunteer for us. Whether you have a few hours a week or specific professional skills to offer, we have a place for you.

Fundraising:

We rely entirely on donations to keep our work going. We need volunteers to raise our profile, bring in donations, organise and represent us at local charity events. If you’re creative, organised, or a social butterfly, we need you!

Drivers:

If you live in the Brighton and Hove area and have a car you could join our team of volunteer drivers who help take cats to vet visits, collect food or other supplies and make sure equipment gets to our charity events.

Trustees:

Our board of trustees does more than just oversee governance – they are actively involved in the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the charity. If you have a passion for animal welfare and a head for strategy or fundraising. Please get in touch.

Foster Carers:

As we don’t have a shelter, all the cats in our care are looked after by our short-term fosterers. They provide a safe, temporary home environment for cats until they are adopted. It is a deeply rewarding way to see a nervous cat gain confidence in your care. The charity provides all the food and supplies and pays for any medical costs.

Lost and Found Volunteers:

Many people know the charity due to the Lost and Found register on our website and Facebook page. These volunteers help to manage our inbox and social media so that we can reunite lost cats. We provide full training for the role and you can do it from the comfort of your own home, when it suits you.

Cat Pen Support Worker

This role involves supporting our welfare volunteers to look after the cats in our cat pens which are
located in Hove. This is a new role, and one which may develop over time. As well as spending time with the cats in our pen, our Cat Pen Support Workers may be asked to help feed the cats and clean the pens if needed.
