Found but not Lost after all !!!
Date Found : Mid July 2009
Area Found : Adjacent area between Upper Lewes and Lewes Road called the Triangle.
Details : We received initially, the following email about this lovely looking cat that was thought to be a stray.
"Miss Minx, as we call her, has probably been coming in via our catflap most nights for some weeks and camping there till we get up next morning. She is timid especially of men, she is in very good condition, bit of a Princess and we suspect not used to roughing it in the big outdoors. Someone somewhere has pampered and loved her in the recent past and must be missing her"
Since then, this kitties owner has confirmed that her cat seems to have been making the best of both worlds by being in and around home in the evenings and through the night, but tending to go out in the early hours, which we now know is to go to another home one street away, venturing through their catflap and awaiting the morning ritual of Breakfast, to begin!! Who says cats are aren't clever
Naturally, her owner thanks and appreciates the concern shown by the people who took the time to write in to us.
She asked if we could mention on our site, to anyone in their area who may have also thought she was a possible stray:
"Please, please do not feed her, however hungry she may be sounding!!"
as she is on 'Special Medication' and must not be overfed
Thank You.

Name: Red AKA Gingerboy
Date Lost: 26 July 2009
Date Found :
Days Missing :
Details : Hurray! this adorable old kitty has come back to his many relieved carers! and this is the lovely email we received:
"Great news, Red is 'alive and well' and back in our community doing what he does best - visiting everyone and getting well fed and loved. We followed all of the advice on your website which was very helpful - a neighbour found him quite a way from home, he had got himself completely lost but was looking very prosperous - (groomed and fed). The neighbour had seen our posters and had a flyer through the door so when he saw him, picked him up and brought him home. Our next step is to get him microchiped, we have also issued him with a new collar and tag (and got spares for when he looses them). Red has spent his whole life in this neighbourhood moving from home to home, we feel it would be unfair on him to suddenly box him in to one home (it has been tried and the wailing that ensues is heatbreaking).
So......... we hope that he won't get himself lost again but if he does, you may be hearing from us. Thank you so much for all of your help in finding Red (aka Gingerboy). The poster you put up on the web site was great. Thank you again.

Date Found: 30 May 2009
Days Missing: 8
Details: Benji’s owner is incredibly relieved and happy to say that he arrived home at 3am in the morning, she heard meowing and so she went down to the garden and called - nothing for a while, then Benji appeared. He was very happy to be back and was purring loudly. He was also really hungry and thirsty as well as having lost weight. He was taken to the vet to be checked over and the vet confirmed he has bruising to his back and hind legs which suggests that he may have been in a minor accident. We automatically scan any cats brought into us and if they have a microchip we contact the National register who then contact the owners and pass on our information for them to call us.

Name: Lilley
Date Lost: 15 April 2009
Date Found: 17 April 2009
Days Missing: 2
Details: Lilley was found due to putting up posters and dropping leaflets into people's doors (72 in total). Someone made contact to say they thought they'd seen her. Followed by a second person. They went to the area and spotted her. She was very hard to catch because she was extremely scared and scratchy. Still, she's back and her owners would urge anyone to go round with posters and leaflets. Not one shop said no and even the local pub agreed to put some up. The response from knocking on doors was positive and helpful.
Thanks Ron for all the good work you do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Rapture
Date Lost: 05 April 2009
Date Found: 19 April 2009
Days Missing: 14
Details: Rapture managed to find his way home and turned up at midnight last night making it 14 days that he was missing for. His owners have no idea where he had been, as his owner spent at least an hour every morning at 5am searching for him. He is a little thinner, has lots of dirt caught in his fur and what looks like an eye infection (one of his eyes is half closed and a bit crusty) His owners are overjoyed to have him back as unfortunately his brother Funky (recently featured on your site) died suddenly on Wednesday, he was fine one minute, then curled up as though he was asleep and just stopped living. It might have been connected to the stress of his ordeal of being locked in a dark flat with no food for three and a half weeks though he appeared to be almost back to normal having gained weight and confidence again.
We are very happy to hear that ‘Rapture’ has come back home. Our thoughts are with you over the sad loss of ‘Funky’
Her owners are over the moon. and we will be micro chipping the little lass over next few days to give peace of mind is she were to go walkabout again.
Date Found: 18 March
Days Missing: 1
Details: Pixie has been found by her owners in a poorly state as she has been in some form of accident but is now under the care of her vets and we have been told she should be okay.
Her owners are very relieved and have said that once she is over her ordeal, that they will get us to come and Microchip her, which we know from experience is hugely helpful in giving an owner peace of mind should a cat go missing again, as it is standard practice that all Vets will scan an animal that is brought in, and so helps reunite pet and owner that more quickly.
